What Loppon's Students Say.
The study part of our get togethers runs like a ‘spiritual bookclub’. We’re all reading the same book but under the guidance of our Lama, Loppon Tsering - when we meet he explains more complex concepts to us and we ask questions. I’ve gotten so much out of the books we read last year (‘Widening the Circle of Love’; and ‘Healing Anger. The Power of Patience from a Buddhist Perspective’ both by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama) thanks to Loppon’s teachings and the answers to the questions others ask that I might not have thought of!
After a short break we meditate. I’ve been meditating on my own for years but have reached a new level of calm – the benefits of group meditation led by our monk can’t be measured.
And each week we learn more and more about Buddhism. Thanks Loppon!

I have thoroughly enjoyed and greatly benefited from Loppon's regular Sunday classes. Why have I almost not missed a class, in stark contrast to school and university days when any excuse was good enough to skip classes?
For one, Loppon manifests the qualities of a true teacher. He is a living example or illustration of the perfection that he teaches. This authenticity is sadly lacking in our Western culture. To experience it directly is very special. It is very inspiring. Can we achieve the same? Why not?!
We have studied extensively a book by the Dalai Lama "Healing Anger -- the power of patience from a Buddhist perspective". Given that the levels of anger in our communities are growing astronomically, this book was a great choice. Our common if not universal human goal is to be happy and not to suffer. Addressing anger in such detail is a step in the right direction. The depth of analysis in this book into the causes and conditions of anger arising is phenomenal. Not only that, we get instructions on the 'antidote' or cure for the illness of anger. All that is left to eradicate anger is to put the teaching into practice and believe it or not it works!!
So if you are searching for some meaning in your life, there is no need for you to feel isolated in a spiritual vacuum. To quote Buddha "I have shown you the path. It is up to you to follow it". Loppon's teaching of Buddhism is like a guidebook, describing and explaining the sometimes difficult path to wisdom. Welcome to the inward journey of discovering your own mind!
